Scenario
After the events of Batman (2022), Oz Cobb, aka The Penguin, makes a show of taking over the reins of Gotham’s underworld. Aside from the Bat-signal in the season finale, we never got one. In this short video, IMDb attempts to answer: Where was Batman?

Colin Farrell fought hard to get his version of The Penguin Smoking Tobacco in Batman (2022), but failed. However, his own series portrays the character as a casual tobacco user who prefers cigars. The umbrella falls and the logo changes to the Warner Bros.

I thought Colin Farrell was a great Penguin in Batman, but I never understood how you could take a skinny, good-looking actor and put massive prosthetics and a thick suit on him…especially when I think he looks like some of the other famous actors.
But I didn’t expect to like it nearly as much
I also didn’t understand why this spinoff came about and, honestly, I’m just tired of Batman reboots. But after episode 1, I will say that this show is amazing (so far). I only watched it knowing that it was a bridge between the first and second movies, and to my surprise, I enjoyed Farrell’s performance in the first.
The biggest thing I liked was that there was a lot more color than Batman
The acting is amazing, the script is great, and it surprised me with some quick twists. I noticed this almost immediately because it was a huge complaint about the movie (I felt like I was watching it through Zack Snyder’s lens). I hope it continues to be this good because I really can’t wait for the next episode.
