Features They Stooge to Conga (1943)
Scenario
A cross-generational story about families and their special place, love, loss, laughter and life. Based on the comic strip "Here" by Richard McGuire It was first published as a strip in the comic strip magazine "Raw" in 1989, and was expanded into a 300-page graphic novel in 2014. At one point in the film, Richard’s father names several towns that he says are along the Pennsylvania Turnpike, when in fact these are all towns that are along Interstate 80 in PA, which had not even been built at the time.. [from the trailer] Richard: You know, if you want, you can spend the rest of the night here. Margaret: I could spend the rest of my life here.
Concerto for Clarinet, Pts
1 and 2 Written by Artie Shaw Performed by Artie Shaw and his Orchestra Courtesy of RCA Records In association with Sony Music Entertainment. LIKES: Good acting, realistic in many aspects of life Dynamic use of creative transitions in the set/setting Aging technology Some fascinating connections At times I loved the artistic angle. truly one of the most unique concepts we have seen in a while. The film is based on the fact that a person enjoys the fixation of a single camera/location and tells a story about the effect of time on life and the people moving through it. Zemeckis has accomplished this task on many levels and has managed to utilize the space well and keep the shot dynamic despite it being so static.
Here is a film that relies heavily on being relevant, and the actors bring that meaning to life
The dynamic overall changes are what make this piece fascinating, as the idea of furniture changes is a feature of the house itself, which is impressive and acts as a metaphorical window into life. I loved seeing the people who lived in this room and the families who each called the villa home, seeing their interactions, auras and personalities give the event a different light and tell their own micro-stories. The transitions were through the outlines of the photos that drew attention before oscillating into a new scene, a technique that I find smooth and rarely overdone. There were many creative aspects that never lost their anchor in realism to make this a nice, balanced piece. In terms of story and acting, an A-list cast of talent has helped bring this film to life and achieve its goal of being a look at life.
Wright’s return to the big screen is fierce, as his character is torn between fun and fervor
As for the story, it rarely leaks from the people who lived it, taking snippets from different time periods and projecting them into their own time. The highs and lows are beautifully captured on screen, and Zemeckis’ vision helps drive the concepts home and hit you with the emotional charge this film promises. As the relevant stories hit home for me, it only further solidified my connection to the film, and I found myself pondering what this film had to teach me. The acting is willing to give words to the visions, and much of the dialogue is poetic without being too Shakespearean. Bettany was a surprise to see, and while it wasn’t quite as engaging or dynamic as his Disney film, it still manages to impress me with a brilliant performance of a Boomer generation grappling with the rapid changes in the world.
This is a great portrayal of the struggles faced by so many in his shoes during decades of major change
Hanks is of course just as talented as he has been, and he weaves elements of his other characters into every moment of his life, and he does so with the same class and vigor that he almost always brings to the screen. It’s the chemistry that works, this family atmosphere seems so natural and almost authentic with strong leads guiding the characters, and it never goes too far into Hollywood filming.
