Aristotle Onassis, Maria Callas’ longtime companion, later married former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy
Scenario
Maria Callas, the world’s greatest opera singer, spends the final days of her life in 1970s Paris, coming to terms with her identity and her life. Angelina Jolie and director Pablo Larrain discuss how they connected to the heartbreaking true story of world-renowned opera singer Maria Callas. Kennedy was the subject of Pablo Larrain’s previous biopic, the 2016 film “Jackie,” starring Natalie Portman.
I’m in the mood to be adored

I just saw the film at the film festival
Our entire group was disappointed by what we saw. The plot was thin for us, focusing on the last part of his life, leaving out important parts of the story about how events come together. We went from one scene to the next with no clear connection between the sequences.
There was a void in this version of Maria Callas
The focus seemed to be on Jolie posing for us, rather removed from the charm of the real Maria. I get it – Angelina is great, but where was the spark? I never felt like I identified with the characters or felt involved in the film.

At the end of the film, as the end credits roll, there are scenes of the real Maria Callas – full of personality and charisma – which unfortunately were not represented in Angelina Jolie’s performance. Gorgeous costumes, but that was it for me. “One Hundred Years of Solitude” is one of the biggest TV and streaming premieres this month.
