After the Pope dies, his ring (called the Fisherman’s Ring) is removed and destroyed
Scenario
When Cardinal Lawrence is appointed to preside over one of the world’s most secretive and ancient events, electing a new pope, he finds himself at the center of a conspiracy that could shake the very foundations of the Catholic Church. Many of the actions taken by Cardinal Lawrence and the other cardinals who follow during the conclave process in the film are true to the Catholic faith and centuries-old tradition. The Vatican officially announces that the throne of the Holy See (the governing body of the Catholic Church) is vacant. The papal suite is closed with a red ribbon and sealed with a wax papal seal. The College of Cardinals retreated to apartments (called the Domus Sanctae Marthae or House of St.
Martha) to eat and sleep between votes
The windows and doors of the Sistine Chapel, where the actual elections and voting take place, are blacked out, closed and locked to preserve the secrecy of the conclave. Ayendi is said to be the first African Pope. The Roman Catholic Church has had three African Popes: Victor I (189-199 AD), Miltiades (also known as Melchiades, 311-314 AD), and Gelasius I (492-496 AD). Sister Agnes: Though we sisters should be invisible, yet God has given us eyes and ears. Mentioned in The Saad Truth: My Review of Conclave (film) – Wokeism Destroys Everything (2024).
Edward Berger’s vision is executed perfectly in almost every way possible

Conclave is a fantastic film that is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat and holding your breath. Ralph Fiennes provides an Oscar-worthy lead as he is incredible in the role of Cardinal Lawrence. When he gives his speech and says, “There is one sin I have come to fear more than any other: certainty. If there were only certainty and no doubt, there would be no mystery.
It is just that good
And therefore there is no need for faith…” Absolute chills. The script and dialogue are intelligent and well crafted, but also enhanced by superb acting throughout the film. Stanley Tucci, John Lithgow, Sergio Castelito and Isabella Rossellini were excellent in their respective roles. This film should be nominated for several Oscars including Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Music, Best Actor, Best Cinematography and many more. The soundtrack is perfect as it perfectly captures every twist and turn as the drama unfolds.
Go see it!
The plot is gripping, the pacing is steady and all the characters are interesting in their own way.
